Director, DP Design
Fluidity is the new currency. The increased blurring and blending of boundaries have not only eroded norms but also created greater mutability across socio-economic roles; transforming the way we relate to and inhabit spaces.
Creative thinking forms the basis of Claudia Nam’s design process. Non-linear and iterative, she embraces a disciplined problem-solving approach with the dynamic freedom of creativity, and applies an empathetic and holistic user-centered perspective backed by analytical and rational research which leads to unique and innovative solutions.
Her multidisciplinary design journey has evolved together with the increasing “multi-ness” – multicultural, multiplatform and multigenerational, etc. – adopted in so many aspects of our world. The increased blurring and blending of boundaries have not only eroded norms but also created greater mutability across socio-cultural identities as well as socio-economic roles and structures. Fluitdity, thus, is the new currency defining these shifting currents. As a designer of the built environment, Claudia intuitively engages with the growing network of collaborators and specialists required to deliver the most fitting solutions to the way we inhabit spaces.
As a design strategist with a special interest in placemaking, Claudia’s background includes architecture, interior design, product design and urban planning. Her comprehensive multidisciplinary background is supported by extensive experience in Client liaison, and Consultant & Authority coordination from inception to completion of a project. She leads passionate and talented designers with a comprehensive portfolio of broad project typologies. A wide range of these projects have been successful in both local and international competitions.
Personally, she has benefitted from early and continued exposure to a richness of cultures which has instilled a diverse and varied view of the world and the ever-evolving built environment. Now based in Singapore, she has lived in Buenos Aires, Sydney, Seoul and Shanghai.
